Pierce County High School Update: March 21, 2018


The Pierce County High School continues to make very good progress.

99% of all floor slabs are poured and cured.

Masonry walls are well underway with 40%of the block masonry done.

The steel erection continues to impress with its progress and coordination.

The construction process has been well choreographed by the construction manager. Each subcontractor is coordinated to be in the right place with the correct material and instructions, as exemplified by the progress of the plumbing and electrical.

The roof trusses at the front entry area are scheduled on site first week in April.

Pierce County High School Update: January 18, 2018

[vc_row 0=””][vc_column][vc_column_text 0=””]The progress for the New Pierce County High School is exciting and ahead of schedule.

The steel erection is underway on the front/admin-classroom wing.

All foundation footings are poured for the entire project. Concrete block masonry is approximately six feet high at the CTAE wing.

Extreme cold, snow, and rain has been an issue  during January. However, the contractors continue to make progress.

Brick selection was finalized by the board and the Construction Manager started the order and delivery process.




Pierce County High School Update: November 21, 2017

The progress of construction on the New Pierce County High School is moving steadily and is slightly ahead of schedule.

The first masonry has begun on the front-main wing. The foundation pours are complete on the front-main wing and continue toward completion at the CTAE wing. The contractor is pouring between 100 and 150 yards of concrete a day. Steel structure is scheduled to begin soon on the front wing, and concrete block masonry will be underway on the classroom/science lab wing at the same time.

At this time the project is a little ahead of schedule and on budget.

Pierce County High School Update: September 29, 2017

Another important milestone has been accomplished for the New Pierce County High School. The first and major bid packages were issued and bids received.

The construction manager issued the guaranteed maximum price of $29,974,000. This price is $26,000 below the initial budget of 30,000,000.

The site work continues on schedule so far. The building layout is expected to be complete and ready for footings to begin before the end of October.



Pierce County High School Video Update: August 31, 2017

Another milestone was accomplished with the final approval of the design documents from the Pierce County Board of Education and the Georgia Department of Education.

A three-dimensional fly-over of the proposed design was presented to the Pierce County Board of Education and administration on September 7, 2017.

After a discussion period, the design and final documents were approved and a September 21st, 2017 bid date for the first group of bid packages was confirmed.
