This project has SPDG as the design professional. The task was to nearly double the existing facility without interrupting dining or relocating students to dining tents. The new structure was built completely over and around the existing while existing was still in use. During Christmas holidays, the existing structure was removed from within the new. Students maintained dining throughout the construction.
I would like to commend SP Design on their innovative approach to Gordon State College’s dining facility project. Their proposed approach to build up and over the existing facility while still being occupied by the students has allowed us to continue operating as normal without interruption in service. This approach along with their aggressive timeline has made this project a success.
