This project was a collaborative use design with three floors of apartment style dormitory rooms and a ground floor development featuring the new home of the Journalism Department, Macon Telegraph and Georgia Public Broadcasting. The development was part of the “Campus Life” area in Macon’s College Hill Corridor. SP Design was responsible for the design of the building as well as the interior furnishings. A portion of the project was funded through a grant from the Peyton Anderson Foundation.
“SPDG has been a valuable partner in planning the space for Mercer’s new Center for Collaborative Journalism. They have shown creativity, flexibility and great responsiveness in accommodating the needs and desires of the parties involved in this complex project, including faculty and staff at Mercer and the journalists at The Macon Telegraph and Georgia Public Broadcasting.”
Larry D. Brumley, Senior VP for Marketing Communications and Chief of Staff, Mercer University
